In stock, ready to ship!
PLEASE NOTE - Like many, I am currently unable to obtain Baltic birch stock in my area. At the present time I'm using a solid-core plywood, which is well suited for these jigs.
Loosely based on the Woolsen neck jig, this is my adaptation – a new compact design which allows the luthier to cut the neck joint to precisely match the existing angle of the soundboard. A perfect match every time with no measurement, guesswork, and no 14th fret hump. Clamp the neck blank in place and the jig pivots based on the location of the bridge and the angle of the soundboard – tighten down two thumbscrews to lock the jig into position and cut the tenon (and now dovetails too!) with your router (guide bushing, shallow pattern-cutting , or dovetail bit required). It works GREAT for neck reset jobs too, once you remove the fretboard. This new version allows you to adjust the tenon depth to accomodate ukelele necks and other necks with smaller heels.
Also included is the NEWLY REDESIGNED body mortise jig, now completely adjustable and reversible for both Mortise/Tenon AND Dovetail joints – not all necks are perfectly square with the body, now both jigs are adjustable to accommodate custom configurations. Simply clamp the jig where you want the mortise and route with the same bit you used on the neck tenon. The single clamping pad on the body jig allows for “wedge” body guitars as well! All clamping surfaces are cork-lined to protect the body and neck.
Both Dovetail AND Tenon routing templates included, all made from heavy duty plywood for years of service in your shop.
